Camille Springer, classroom teacher, works with one book club while 
Debbie Glidewell, reading teacher, meets with another.


AWARD WINNING BOOK BASKETS

Do you have a book basket in your classroom library for award winning books?  
Newbery Award
The John Newbery Medal goes to the author of the most distinguished American novel for children.  The 2014 winner is Kate DiCamilla for Flora and Ulysses.
Caldecott
The Randolph Caldecott Medal goes to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children.  The 2014 winner is Brian Floca for Locomotive.
Corretta Scott King Award 
The Coretta Scott King Book Awards are given annually to outstanding African American authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults that demonstrate an appreciation of African American culture and universal human values.  
Michael Printz Award
The Michael L. Printz Award annually honors the best book written for teens, 
based entirely on its literary merit.
